The thigh injury that slowed Dez Bryant in Week 1 against the Jets will keep him out of Week 2 action entirely.
The Cowboys announced Sunday that Bryant is inactive for the team’s matchup against the 49ers in San Francisco.
Bryant suffered a bruised thigh when the helmet of a Jets special-teams player collided with his leg. It initially appeared that Bryant would be active, but his prognosis grew more grim as the week progressed.
The injury led owner Jerry Jones to question whether Bryant should continue to handle punt-returning duties.
