Randy Moss confirms (once again): ‘I’m done’

We already know that Tom Brady would welcome Randy Moss back into the Patriots’ fold, but the retired wideout insisted Thursday that he’s done catching passes.

WEEI-AM producer Ian Meropol ran into Moss at a golf course in Bellingham, Mass., and quizzed him about the rumors of possibly rejoining New England’s attack.

“Any chance we’ll see you in Gillette, Randy?” Meropol asked.

“No, I’m done,” Moss replied.

But why are you hanging in The Bay State, sir? “I’m just here golfing, minding my business,” he said.

So, perhaps it’s really over for Moss, who traveled strange roads last season, bouncing from New England to Minnesota to Tennessee — like Marty McFly, becoming more invisible like with each snapshot. Whispers about his return — if not based in reality — stem from the talent many believe he still possesses. The idea that after this respite, he could join a team and explode. People aren’t ready to give up on Moss, but if he’s really walking away, he should be allowed that space.

Still, we’ll certainly miss this. And this. And even this.
