Steven Jackson hoping to play vs. Giants

While all signs this week have pointed to the opposite, Rams RB Steven Jackson remains optimistic that he can get on the field Monday night against the Giants.

The Giants have their issues defensively, but did a good job of keeping the Redskins and Tim Hightower under wraps — limiting Washington to just 2.8 yards per carry in Week 1. That doesn’t bode well for an oft-injured running back trying to rush back from a quad strain. For now, stick with the idea that Cadillac Williams┬áis going to be the back of choice for Josh McDaniels’ offense this week.
