More proof there’s no QB controversy in Denver

For those fans clamoring for Tim Tebow in Denver — or elsewhere — keep clamoring. Even at your own expense.
There isn’t a quarterback controversy in Denver just yet, which might disappoint those inside Sports Authority Field at Mile High who chanted for Tebow to replace starter Kyle Orton during Monday night’s loss to the Raiders. Broncos beat writer Mike Klis is plugged in to the team, and he told NFL Network on Thursday it’s Orton who has the support of those who matter most in Denver.
“Inside the locker room, there’s really not a controversy,” Klis said. “The starting quarterback is Kyle Orton, there’s really no dispute. There’s really no story.”
That’s not to say Orton always will be the starter in Denver. We know things can, and will, change, especially if the season goes south. But don’t discount something else Klis suggests: If Orton is taken out, it could be Brady Quinn, and not Tebow, who’s given the next shot.
