Faulk: Kubiak’s seat in Houston definitely hot

Is it possible to be on the NFL coaching hot seat after one week of the season?
Apparently, yes.
So who’s on this (very) early season list? Tom Coughlin? Todd Haley? NFL Network analyst Marshall Faulk has a name that might not be as obvious to casual NFL observers.
“(Gary Kubiak) has been on the hot seat before he even played a game, because of everything that has happened in his division,” Faulk said Wednesday on “No Huddle.” “He went from ‘They could win,” to ‘You better win this division this year.’
“The Colts are without Peyton Manning. They got rid of David Garrard in Jacksonville. They brought in Matt Hasselbeck (in Tennessee). … The Texans have the best offensive weapons in the AFC South, not to mention they bring in one of the best 3-4 defensive coordinators to grace our league in Wade Phillips. You can’t lose. … Gary Kubiak has to be pulling his hair out, thinking (the Texans) have to win the division.”
And that conversation isn’t going away. It’s the reality of life in the league.
