Giants work out Houshmandzadeh, to sign Stokley

The Giants auditioned T.J. Houshmandzadeh on Wednesday, but the veteran receiver won’t be signed, according to a league source.
Instead, the Giants plan to sign Brandon Stokley to help shore up their depleted receiving corps. Hakeem Nicks currently is fighting to play through a hyperextended right knee sustained during a season-opening loss to the Redskins, though he told the Star-Ledger he doesn’t see himself “missing any time.”
Stokley had 31 receptions for 354 yards with the Seahawks last season and beat out a group that included WR David Clowney in addition to Houshmandzadeh.
UPDATE: The Star-Ledger, citing the player’s agent, reported Wednesday night that the Giants did sign Stokley.
