From ‘Madden’ to real life: Ryan ready for Vick

Matt Ryan used to play “Madden” as Michael Vick. Now he’ll play against him in real life.

The two QBs are set to square off against each other Sunday when Vick returns to Atlanta with the Eagles, and Ryan is looking forward to it.

“I think if you asked anybody who went to college from 2003 to 2007 who they played with in ‘Madden,’ they’d probably tell you Michael Vick,” Ryan said Wednesday on “NFL Total Access.” “He was good in that game; he was a beast for sure. He was fun to play with and fun to watch, and it’s going to be fun playing against him.”

The Falcons’ offense certainly has its work cut out trying to rebound from a dismal no-touchdown performance in Chicago. Ryan has to get WRs Roddy White and Julio Jones into the flow to jumpstart the offense, and he knows it.

“We just have to get back to work,” Ryan said. “We’ve done a great job of that already today. Last week is last week; we didn’t perform as well as we would have liked to, but there is nothing we can do about it now. We had our first practice of the week today; we got out there, it was good to get back on the field and get going, and I thought we had a good practice. We have to put that one behind us and get ready for this week.”
