Nicks uncertain for Week 2

Hakeem Nicks’ status for Monday night’s game against the St. Louis Rams is up in the air as the team evaluates the extent of his knee injury.
Nicks was the Giants’ leading receiver in Week 1, snagging seven balls for 122 yards in the 28-14 loss to the Redskins. Beyond his performance, however, there was little else remarkable about the Giants’ offensive performance. But keep an eye on Nicks this week. His absence could mean more opportunities for Mario Manningham, who had a pedestrian 49 receiving yards.
It could end up being a better week to ride with the Giants’ backfield pairing of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs. The Rams held Michael Vick and the Eagles passing attack in check, limiting Philly to just 167 net passing yards, but were gashed for 236 yards on the ground.
