Raiders release third-string QB Edwards

The Raiders cut backup QB Trent Edwards on Saturday, according to a league source.

Edwards, a former third-round draft pick by the Bills in 2007, was signed by the Raiders in late July. He was the No. 3 quarterback behind starter Jason Campbell and Kyle Boller.

The Raiders don’t have a third quarterback on the roster after placing rookie QB Terrelle Pryor on the reserve/suspended list Saturday.
