We’re now five days away from the start of the 2011 NFL season, when the Green Bay Packers host the New Orleans Saints in a meeting between the last two Super Bowl winners. The Saints know firsthand how tough it can be to get back to the playoffs the following year, much less the big game.
Five new teams made the playoffs last season, equaling the least amount of postseason turnover in the past decade (tying 2002 and 2004). The 2003 season saw a true changing of the guard as eight new teams made it to the party.
Just goes to show how unpredictable this league — and this season — can be.
