The Raiders are in talks with rookie QB Terrelle Pryor and expect to have a deal done “very, very shortly,” according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Pryor was the only player selected in Monday’s NFL supplemental draft, in the third round. He’ll be required to serve a five-game suspension to begin the season as a condition of his eligibility set forth by the league.
As a third-round pick, there isn’t much negotiation to be done on the contract. Pryor likely will receive roughly $500,000 guaranteed as part of a four-year deal.
The Raiders, given the restrictions over Pryor playing and practicing during his suspension, are dealing with several issues and fully expect to have him signed by the weekend.
