Step inside the Playbook ‘War Room’

Chances are, as you watch preseason football, you will take a few breaks to grab a refreshment or snack, or let your dog outside for a bathroom break. Heck, you will probably take a break yourself — a permanent break — turning off the TV and skipping the entire second half.

We don’t blame you, because you believe you know what you’re missing.

These are third- and fourth-stringers, and chances are they aren’t going to make the team. What a waste of time, right?

Not to “Playbook.” To us, every second counts. Our research team watches every play for every team. We pour over every blitz, every false step by an offensive lineman and every blown coverage. And we can tell you why it happened, because “All-22” coaching tape gives us exclusive views that broadcast cameras can’t capture. The wide sideline angle offers an unparalleled look at the passing game, showing all 22 players at one time — hence the name. Then, there is the tighter end zone camera, which helps focus in on team’s defensive and offensive fronts.

Only in our War Room, and in the dimly lit offices of coaches around the league, will this film blast through a projector. As coaches sit in their meetings, we also comb through the tape, rocking it back and forth, giving our eyes the same chance to take in every second and examine every phase of the game.

No “insider” on the beat for your local newspaper watches the game this way. They ask questions. We already have the answers.

Here, we will give you a chance to peer into our world. You can pick our brains as we offer you a sampling of what we research every week for our analysts. You’ll be alongside Sterling Sharpe (five-time All-Pro), Joe Theismann (Redskins quarterback and Super Bowl XVII winner) and Brian Baldinger (11-year pro and one of the hardest-working men in the business).

We have an authentic War Room board, meticulously constructed, that lists depth charts for every team. Want to know who is the third-string left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles? We have the answer, and we can tell you how he played. From football techniques and player evaluations to matchup-based fantasy spins, we are your guide.

Welcome to the War Room, folks.
