After likely losing cornerbacks Terrell Thomas and Brian Witherspoon for the season with serious knee injuries, the Giants are auditioning several corners Wednesday and intend to sign one, according to a league source.

However, the Giants are being practical about losing their top corner in Thomas and have told agents they’re looking to make a veteran-minimum, split contract-type move.

So the limited earning capacity has prompted some top candidates, like former Colts CB Kelvin Hayden, to decline the invite.
