When New York Giants CB Terrell Thomas walked off the field under his own power late in the first half of Monday night’s preseason game against the Bears, the injury to his right knee didn’t appear to be too serious.
But it turned out to be the worst possible scenario for Thomas and the Giants.
According to the ESPN game broadcast, Thomas tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee and is out for the season. Thomas was injured when he collided with teammate Jason Pierre-Paul while trying to get to Bears QB Jay Cutler.
It’s a huge hit for the Giants to lose Thomas, who has been a full-time starter the last two seasons.
