Cooley expects to be ready for Week 1

Chris Cooley hasn’t practiced since Aug. 4 because of swelling in his right knee, but the Redskins tight end told CSN Washington that he has every expectation that he’ll be ready to go for the season opener against the Giants.
Cooley made the decision to shut down his workouts for two weeks in order to allow for some healing after seeing some joint irritation on an MRI exam. Injuries are nothing new for fantasy owners who have dealt with Cooley, who is a legitimate fantasy starter when healthy. But if you draft Cooley — the No. 12 tight end on NFL.com’s rankings – you may want to think about pairing him up with Fred Davis in the late rounds.
