Browns, Thomas agree to $84M deal

The Cleveland Browns agreed to terms Monday with LT Joe Thomas on seven-year deal worth around $84 million, including more than $40 million guaranteed, according to a league source.

It is by far the highest amount of guaranteed money in a contract signed by an offensive lineman and puts Thomas in the range of Julius Peppers and Larry Fitzgerald for the largest deals, in terms of average salary per year, for a non-quarterback.

Thomas, the third overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, is a four-time Pro Bowler and a two-time first-team All-Pro.
