Foster scheduled to start for Texans

A quick update to pass along from the press box at Reliant Stadium, where the Texans host the Saints Saturday night: Running back Arian Foster will start tonight for Houston.
Foster, the NFL’s leading rusher from last season, returned to practice Wednesday following a hamstring injury that had sidelined him since Aug. 5. He didn’t play in the Texans’ preseason opener against the Jets and wasn’t sure he would take the field tonight against the Saints.
The return of Foster is much-needed for the Texans, who will be without running backs Steve Slaton (hamstring) and Derrick Ward (concussion) against the Saints. Ben Tate, a second-round pick in 2010 who missed all of last season, also returned to practice this week and is expected to play.
