Patriots QB Tom Brady isn’t expected to take part in Thursday night’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Gillette Stadium, a team source told NFL Network.

Brady is in uniform tonight but didn’t take part in pregame warm-ups, and like a lot of veterans around the league, won’t sniff the field in his team’s first preseason game.

Expect to see a lot of  Brian Hoyer and rookie Ryan Mallett, the only other quarterbacks on the Patriots roster.

We’re still awaiting word on whether Chad Ochocinco will make his Patriots debut.
