Prime Time hits Canton…in style

CANTON, Ohio — If there was ever a question as to what team Deion Sanders would most identify himself with as he prepares to be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the cornerback may have answered that with his arrival in Canton Thursday evening.

Sanders, as only he could, pulled up to the McKinley Hotel in a red and black RV, fit for, well, Deion.

He could have chosen one with blue and white stars or even some Ravens purple, but it appears — based on his ride — that Sanders’ heart is in Atlanta.

Sanders didn’t stop to comment or address the crowd forming in front of the hotel. Instead, he let his t-shirt do the talking: “Truth.”

Sanders was among the massive contingent of Hall of Famers who have begun to arrive in Canton, making for a rare scene in the lobby of the McKinley.

A few of this weekend’s stars were on hand. Shannon Sharpe, Ed Sabol and Marshall Faulk were on hand — but they couldn’t take two steps without being stopped by someone offering congratulations.

Among those arriving Thursday night, just in time for dinner, were Deacon Jones, Forrest Gregg, Randall McDaniel and Willie Brown.

But without a doubt, it was Sanders who made the biggest entrance.

Leave it to “Prime” to show up in style for his own Hall of Fame induction.
