Birk out 2 to 3 weeks; Rabach fails Ravens physical

Ravens center Matt Birk only expects to miss 2 to 3 weeks following a knee scope and isn’t concerned about his ability to recover, according to a league source.

The team intended to sign Casey Rabach, a former Raven and Redskin, as injury insurance behind Birk, but he failed his physical Wednesday. Rabach underwent offseason shoulder surgery. The Ravens are seeking depth after losing free agent center/guard Chris Chester to the Redskins.
