Kreutz’s contract talks with Bears in bad place

UPDATE: I’m hearing the Bears are showing interest in former Seahawks center Chris Spencer, who was a regular starter in Seattle from 2006 to 2010.

Six-time Pro Bowl center Olin Kreutz hasn’t been able to come to terms on even a short-term deal with the Bears, and the negotiations aren’t in a good place right now, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

There aren’t a lot of options with other teams for centers, however, and Kreutz, 34, isn’t inclined to accept what’s on the table from the Bears right now (the Chicago Tribune reported the sides are $500,000 apart). So it’s a waiting game.
