The Atlanta Falcons have released wide receiver Michael Jenkins and former first-round pick Jamaal Anderson.
Anderson, 25, a four-year veteran, started all 16 games as a rookie defensive end in 2007 and 31 games since. He has 83 total tackles in his career with 4.5 sacks. He started only three games last season.
Jenkins, 29, has spent all seven seasons of his career with the Falcons. He had 41 receptions for 505 yards last season, appearing in 11 games. Jenkins has 276 catches for 3,512 yards and 20 touchdowns in his career.
The addition of rookie wideout Julio Jones, who signed a four-year deal with the team for $16.2 million guaranteed, helped make Jenkins expendable..
