Holmes left money on table to stay with Jets

Santonio Holmes, who agreed to a deal that averages slightly less than $10 million per season with $24 million guaranteed, took less money to remain with Jets, according to league sources.

Three teams, including the Redskins, were very interested in Holmes. Holmes loves his young teammates, though, and quickly formed a strong bond with coach Rex Ryan and QB Mark Sanchez.
