Hasselbeck unlikely to return to Seattle

It appears increasingly unlikely that Matt Hasselbeck will be back in Seattle.

I continue to hear the Titans will be aggressive to sign the QB, and the Seahawks also are monitoring the Kevin Kolb trade market and have interest. But the Seahawks have reservations about giving up a first-round draft pick for him, sources say, and are prepared to go in another direction if need be.

That backup plan includes continuing to try to develop Charlie Whitehurst, and the Seahawks also would have significant interest in Tarvaris Jackson, who played for Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell in Minnesota, and Matt Leinart as a third quarerback. Leinart played for coach Pete Carroll at USC.

The Seahawks also are making a play for Vikings free-agent WR Sidney Rice, sources say.
