Romo’s wedding video a summer blockbuster

Note: This blog was posted along with a Vimeo video of Tony Romo’s wedding. The video has since been taken down — but read on and you’ll get the picture.
Ask anybody who has been married, and they will tell you that your wedding day goes by in a flash. That’s why it’s great to have a video of the ceremony to remember the day.
Or in Tony Romo‘s case, the wedding video can serve as a reminder of your wedding day as if it was some cheesy 1990s “romcom” in the same vein as “She’s All That.”
And when you think of it, Romo’s life has mirrored one of those films. Romo is the brooding, popular athlete who has to choose between the snotty brat (Jessica Simpson) or the good girl (Candice Crawford). Romo makes the right decision in the end — so much so that Simpson gains weight and ends up with the backup tight end — and it culminates with a wedding montage that includes top-shelf booze, fireworks and stubble on the groom’s face that would rival Matt Fox from “Party of Five.” The filmmaker has that genre pitch perfect, right down to the cheesy Coldplay tract “Fix You,” which no doubt was a not-so-subtle jab at Simpson.
In fact, how has this not been optioned into a motion picture yet? Get Freddie Prinze Jr. on the phone. I’ve found the perfect vehicle to revive his career.
