When the NFL lockout ends, Super Bowl XLII hero Plaxico Burress can begin his search for a new team in earnest. In the meantime, he’ll make an appearance Thursday at the NFL Network and NFL.com offices to talk about his new ventures with the National Urban League and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
The former Steelers and Giants wide receiver also will talk plenty of football, of course. You can see him later today on NFL.com, then tonight on “NFL Total Access.”
Here’s what else is on tap Thursday:
- It’s finally here … a very special podcast debuts as Rich Eisen talks to the cast of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” You can give it a listen later this morning on Eisen’s blog channel, download it off iTunes -– and then check out NFL Network’s televised podcast tonight at 10 ET.
- Owners and players are expected to join the meetings that have been taking place in New York this week between the NFL and NFLPA. Here’s the latest from Albert Breer.
- After causing a stir with his Tuesday comment that Brett Favre might want to make another comeback, NFL.com’s Gil Brandt elaborated on the idea last night on “Total Access.”
- Today’s Instant Debate takes the “Top 100 Players of 2011″ and pays it forward: Who will make the biggest jump on next year’s list? Our experts chime in with their thoughts.
- If the Colts could only re-sign one free agent, WR Reggie Wayne or DE Robert Mathis, which one should they pursue? NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks tackles that question.
- Speaking of Brooks, yesterday we teased his story on why teams might not want to pay out the nose for Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha. Here it is, in case you missed it.
- Next Saturday, NFL Network will air an episode of “Films Session: Profiles” – either John Elway, Jerry Rice, Jimmy Johnson, Dan Marino or Joe Montana. And guess what? You get to help decide which one.
- Brooks and Steve Wyche talked to 49ers rookie QB Colin Kaepernick and NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora during the latest edition of their Cover 2 Podcast. Give it a listen.
- And speaking of Wyche, he’ll be rapping with fans during his weekly live chat on NFL.com, at noon ET. Submit a question here.
