NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players of 2011” has provided a quality source of material for offseason arguments. And as the countdown continues — Nos. 11-20 will be unveiled Sunday at 8 p.m. ET — network producers strong-armed analyst Brian Baldinger and insider Jason La Canfora to come up with their own top 10 lists Friday.
Baldinger and La Canfora actually agree on a few things. In fact, seven players appeared on both of their lists. But where they disagree is where it gets interesting.
La Canfora included Texans WR Andre Johnson, Packers LB Clay Matthews and Browns OT Joe Thomas on his list. The three players exclusive to Baldinger’s top 10 were Titans RB Chris Johnson; Packers CB Charles Woodson; and his No. 2 overall player, Peyton Manning.
The discussion that ensued was too much for this blog — as host Fran Charles can surely attest to — but check out the video above to see how La Canfora explains his omission of Manning.
