Kirwan: Redskins a posibility for Tiki Barber

As the rumor mill flushes out which teams could be potential destinations for Tiki Barber — as well as where the former Giant would ultimately like to end up — many of the usual suspects begin to surface. The latest hot rumors link Barber to the Steelers, who could be in need of running back help if Mewelde Moore leaves as a free agent.
Add another team to the list of potential suitors, this one courtesy of NFL.com analyst Pat Kirwan: the Washington Redskins.
“I’ve known Tiki for a long time, and he’ll come ready to compete,” Kirwan said during a live chat. “The challenge is giving reps to an older veteran who is a short-term answer and taking them away from a younger, developmental player. Rumors are already circulating about Pittsburgh, where Moore is a free agent. But I always look to the division where the player came from. In this case, maybe the Redskins are a possibility.”
There’s certainly some logic to this line of thinking, as Ryan Torain would presumably top the Redskins’ depth chart, likely followed by Keiland Williams and rookie Roy Helu. Many figure the Redskins are in the market for a veteran runner, at least one not named Clinton Portis. If the price is right, maybe that veteran option is Barber.
