La Canfora: Possible replacements for Haynesworth

The Washington Redskins, clearly in a rebuilding mode, have a few areas in need of improvement. But when NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora was asked during his Wednesday chat about what the Redskins need to do when free agency begins, he had focused on one position.
“They have to rebuild the DL and they know it.” La Canfora said. “I figure Aubrayo Franklin and Cullen Jenkins get a good long look from them.”
Of course, Washington already has a high-paid player that was acquired via free agency on the interior of their defensive line – Albert Hayneworth. That marriage ended almost before it began, so the next question is what the Redskins do with him. La Canfora was asked by someone else in the chat if he thought Haynesworth would end up in Philadelphia, mainly because Jim Washburn, Haynesworth’s former defensive line coach from the Titans, is now with the Eagles.
“I think they’d trade (Haynesworth) for a seventh-round pick somewhere outside the division before they dealt him to the Eagles now, with Washburn there, or cut him,” said La Canfora, who thinks the Redskins might be looking for more than they’ll get for the troubled player.
“They should have taken a fifth for him last offseason and ended the circus then,” he said. “We shall see. Skins GM Bruce Allen has repeatedly told Haynesworth’s people that if they don’t get ‘real value’ in a trade they won’t move him but I don’t see them getting anything better than a fifth for him, and they have wanted much more than that.”
