Data Points: Unstoppable offenses of the 2000s

On Wednesday, several of our NFL writers discussed which team has the most unstoppable offense. There are several to choose from, especially in this day and age, when seemingly every rule is geared toward helping offenses.

Here’s another question: Which teams produced the most unstoppable offenses over the course of the 2000s? One way to rank team offense is net yards per game, which is passing yards plus rushing yards, less any negative plays like sacks or fumbled snaps.

Last season, Philip Rivers and the Chargers led the NFL with 395.6 yards per game, nearly 60 yards above the league average. Norv Turner’s club wouldn’t have cracked the top 10 during the last decade:
