With Darren Sharper and Ronde Barber in studio for NFL Network’s “The Top 100 Players of 2011” reaction show on Sunday, we accomplished something that only takes place at the Broncos’ team facilities: two of the top career interceptors in the same room, at the same time.
Of course, that happened all the time last season, as teammates Champ Bailey (48) and Brian Dawkins (37) are among the active career leaders in the category. While the younger players are sure to glean leadership and some football IQ off a veteran safety like Dawkins, he’s nowhere near Sharper (63), the only other safety on the list.
Who knows where Sharper will suit up in 2011, but in case you’re wondering, he is only 18 picks behind the NFL’s all-time leader in interceptions, Paul Krause.
