Favre Watch: Throwing first pitches
Published: May 26th, 2011 | Tags: Brett Favre, Brett Favre, Favre Watch
If you pay attention closely enough, the signs are pretty evident we’re now 76 (or so) days into the locked-out offseason. There isn’t a whole lot of football to talk about that hasn’t already been talked about. But that doesn’t mean we’re not still trying.
And so we bring you Brett Favre throwing out a first pitch … sound the Favre Watch!
OK, just to be clear, we don’t think this has anything to do with Favre returning to the NFL next season, even if he says he “feels pretty good” (queue foreboding piano music now). Even if he were still playing, we imagine Favre would still be throwing first pitches and not attending player-organized workouts. C’mon, it is only May.
Favre showed pretty good heat – he says it’s been 25 years since he made a first pitch — before the Conference USA Tournament game between Southern Miss and Tulane. When you watch the video, notice the absence of Vikings horns in the background. Instead, the stadium PA system was playing “Bang on the Drum All Day” of Lambeau Field fame.
Nevertheless, there’s your latest post-retirement Favre Watch update.
