The ranking of Cowboys QB Tony Romo at No. 72 on the NFL Network’s “The Top 100″ has provided various levels of consternation for many in NFL Nation.
Although Romo has his supporters — Kurt Warner among them — some believe Romo’s ranking as the ninth-best quarterback, as voted by the players, is too high. Or too low. But NFL.com columnist Vic Carucci believes Romo is ranked right where he should be on the list of the NFL’s best players. Here’s why:
“He is someone who can still make improvements to his game, and I think those improvements will come as he continues to develop,” Carucci said during his weekly live chat. “The other key is the ability to stay healthy; missing the time he did last year was a setback. But if he can remain in one piece and have an improved supporting cast (especially up front), I think he’s capable of taking the Cowboys far.”
