No need to adjust your eyes. That is indeed Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow in the photo above, hanging out with Jockey underwear models at Macy’s in Midtown Manhattan. Tebow made the appearance Saturday, but we saved the pic to kick off a Monday morning on NFL.com. Just wanted to give you something to think about in what has certainly been the strangest offseason ever. (Oh, and NFL.com did speak to Tebow during a break at this appearance; we’ll have a story posted later today.)
Speaking of quarterbacks who seem to make headlines with whatever they do, the Cowboys’ Tony Romo made an appearance last night on NFL Network’s “Top 100 of 2011” series. Where does he rank on the list? Find out here.
And if you’ve got a problem with where Romo is ranked, or anyone else for that matter, you are not alone. After you check out this fan rant, you can voice your own opinion on the rankings.
Speaking of rants, on Friday we teased the latest installment of “The Dave Dameshek Football Program,” but you may have missed it going live. Dave and Co. debated the Top 100 series, which no doubt included some criticism of Peyton Manning. Listen for yourself.
NFL Red Zone researcher Elliot Harrison kicks off a series in which he looks at the Top 20 Memorable Games of 2010. First up: The Oakland Raiders classic upset over rival San Diego.
With tonight’s “32 Teams in 32 Days” segment covering the Cleveland Browns, rookie coach Pat Shurmur will appear via Browns cam on “NFL Total Access.”
Today’s Data Points looks at the most-penalized teams in the NFL last season. Are players on these teams working on mental discipline at their informal workouts?
By now, you’ve heard all about Chad Ochocinco’s bull-riding this weekend (for all of 1.5 seconds, but still). Of course, this was just the latest in Ochocinco’s offseason adventures, and NFL.com has it all documented in a photo gallery.
The Tebow event referenced at the top of this post celebrated the launch of the innovative Jockey “staycool” collection, which helps your skin feel up to 3 degrees cooler using technology originally designed to keep astronauts comfortable. Speaking of astronauts…
We’ve had some fun on NFL.com recently with things said and tweeted by Dallas Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett, but this one is kinda deep. Here’s what Bennett said via Twitter late Sunday night: “I used 2 wanna be an astronaut until I realized it wasnt good for my imagination cuz wonderin wat outerspace was like allowed me to dream.” As he notes on his Twitter page, he is a “Professional Brainstormer”…
If you want to talk to someone about Bennett’s comments or Tebow’s underwear deal, don’t look to Pat Kirwan. NFL.com’s senior analyst would much rather talk x’s and o’s in his weekly chat at 1 p.m. ET, so if you’re up for some real football talk, submit a question here.
