The Denver Broncos remain noncommittal about whether Kyle Orton is on the trading block, a strategy that hasn’t hurt his potential value as one of the better options on the quarterback trade market. Most league insiders believe that Orton can be had for the right price when player movement is finally allowed.
There is also the Tim Tebow factor, and how the Broncos really feel about the second-year quarterback will ultimately drive the decision on Orton.
During his weekly live chat Friday, NFL.com senior columnist Vic Carucci suggested the Broncos will ultimately decide it’s Tebow Time.
“If the Broncos can get something of value for Orton, they should trade him,” Carucci wrote. “I can’t tell you, exactly, what the price should be, but they’ll know it if they see it. My sense is they should move forward with Tebow as their starter, devoting at least a full season to his development while leaning on a rebuilt defense to help prop up him and the rest of the offense.”
