Dave launches the new program with what he deems to be podcast equivalent of a preseason game. That doesn’t prevent from him — with the help of sidekick Adam Rank and producer Dylan Milner — from tackling pro pigskin’s biggest issues of the week.
Rashard Mendenhall‘s silly tweets are a point of discussion as well as fodder for the new segment “Handsome Hank Reads NFL Tweets,” starring British import and NFL employee Henry Hodgson. The fellas move on to post-NFL draft analysis, including Dave addressing the preconceived notions surrounding Cam Newton and the most overused draft-related cliches.
With all due respect to the Commissioner, Dave introduces his version of the Fan Conduct Policy: rules for the fans, by the fans. The gang also finds time to discuss “Red Dawn,” “Road House” and a well-worn cop movie cliche … proving this podcast is truly for the most erudite NFL lovers. And finally, Dave declares that the new podcast will not be discussing labor strife, perhaps hoping that ignoring the ugly reality will make it just go away.
And we ask you to just try to get that theme song out of your head.
