Four-QB run matches 2004 draft

Cam Newton (No. 1 to Panthers), Jake Locker (No. 8 to Titans), Blaine Gabbert (No. 10 to Jaguars) and Christian Ponder (No. 12 to Vikings) were taken among the top 12 selections in the draft.

The last time four quarterbacks went in the first round was 2004:
Eli Manning: No. 1 to Chargers (later traded to Giants)
Philip Rivers: No. 4 to Giants (later traded to Chargers)
Ben Roethlisberger: No. 11 to Steelers
J.P. Losman: No. 22 to Bills

Five quarterbacks went in the first round of the 1999 draft:
Tim Couch: No. 1 to Browns
Donovan McNabb: No. 2 to Eagles
Akili Smith: No. 3 to Bengals
Daunte Culpepper: No. 11 to Vikings
Cade McNown: No. 12 to Bears
