Lombardi: Mallett dedicated to football

The personal life of Ryan Mallett has been dissected and discussed in the days leading up to the 2011 NFL Draft, but our Micheal Lombardi believes that the talented quarterback will end up going in the first round. Possibly to the Dolphins.

Lombardi told NFL.com users during a chat on Wednesday that Mallett to the Dolphins makes a lot of sense. Lombardi says that Mallett has some of the best skills in the draft, accuracy on all passes and has great football awareness. And with a great need at quarterback in Miami, this move would make a great fit.

What is interesting, though, is that with Mallett’s off-the-field troubles, would Mallett be at a risk being so close to South Beach?

“I don’t think so,” Lombardi said. “I think Mallett likes football too much to get caught up in the wrong things. I think Mallett is dedicated to playing the sport.”
