Brandt: Bengals have quarterback in sight

The Bengals are looking for a quarterback, that much we know about the draft. But where do the Bengals make the move? Our Gil Brandt told readers on Monday during his chat that the Bengals could be looking to move out of the No. 4 spot in the draft, and that the club has its eyes on quarterback down the draft board.

“The Bengals spent a lot of time last Friday with QB prospects Andy Dalton and Christian PonderMarvin Lewis and four members of his staff were there,” Brandt said. “Neither Dalton nor Ponder make sense at No. 4 overall, so I could see them moving down for one of those guys.”

So Dalton and Ponder are clearly on the Bengals’ radar. For now, Brandt has the Bengals taking WR A.J. Green in the first round.

Our Pat Kirwan recently released his three-round mock draft and agrees with Brandt’s assessment of the Bengals taking Green. Kirwan does have the Bengals taking Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett in the second round.
