Apologies, as that headline should come with a spoiler alert, but it’s hard to fathom that Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) was not the top NFL player-turned-actor of all-time. The guy chosen by the “Total Access” staff is pretty good. Great even.

But we are talking about Apollo Creed here.

“The Master of Disaster,” “The King of Sting,” “The Dancing Destroyer,” “The Count of Monte Fisto”, “The Prince of Punch” … how can it not be Apollo?

In any event, this list was inspired by Dallas Clark‘s recent turn as a police officer in “Criminal Minds.” And since I have been known to take a swing at compiling lists, I went one further to count down the six NFL-personality inspired pilots that we would like to see.
