Brandt: Martz looking at quarterbacks

Of course, some boisterous Bears fans are over QB Jay Cutler following his injury in the NFC Championship Game. But could the team actually be looking for his replacement?
Our Gil Brandt noted during his weekly NFL.com chat that Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz has been looking at quarterbacks, even traveling to University of Idaho to take a look at QB Nathan Enderle.
“When the head coach or offensive coordinator looks at a guy at a position, they could be dissatisfied,” Brandt said. “That could mean that they might not be sold on Cutler. When Martz goes to Moscow [Idaho] that should tell you something.”
Brandt, however, does not expect Cutler to be on the move this offseason. One reader thought that maybe a reunion with Mike Shanahan in Washington would be a good idea. Brandt said that it would be hard to envision such a move, saying that the ransom that the Bears paid for Cutler would make him too hard to part with.
Plus, Brandt noted, he did take the Bears to the NFC Championship Game.
