Chargers targeting Purdue’s Kerrigan?

The Chargers had the top-ranked defense in 2010, but could the team be looking for some help on defense in the upcoming draft? The San Diego Union-Tribune‘s Kevin Acee joined “Path to the Draft” on Wednesday to talk about where the Chargers could be looking with the 18th pick in the draft.

One name that continues to come up is Purdue DE Ryan Kerrigan‘s. The Chargers have the luxury of established players on defense and could use Kerrigan as a situational pass-rusher for a team that tied for second in the NFL with 47 sacks last season.

Bucky Brooks and Pat Kirwan have Kerrigan going to the Jaguars at No. 16 in their most recent mock drafts, but defensive end is the consensus position the Chargers will target.
