CB Gatlin stands out at North Dakota St.

Six teams came to North Dakota State’s pro day on Monday to see tackle Michael Arndt, who did not post overly impressive numbers.

Arndt stood 6-feet-6 inches tall, and weighed 310 pounds. Arndt ran 5.42 and 5.45 in the 40-yard dash, had a 27-inch vertical jump, an 8.2-inch broad jump, 4.69 short shuttle, 8.07 3-cone drill and 19 reps on the bench press. Arndt has been called a sleeper by some. He also participated in a positional workout.

There were nine players who worked out in total — five from NDSU and four from small colleges in the area. The workout was held indoors on AstroTurf.

One player who stood out was CB Josh Gatlin who measured 6-foot-1 1/8-inches tall and weighed 196 pounds. He ran 4.39 and 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, had a 35.6-inch vertical jump, a 9.10-inch broad jump, 4.29 short shuttle, 7.03 3-cone drill and did eight reps on the bench press.

Gatlin looked really good, not enough to get drafted, but should be signed as a rookie free agent.
