We all know that NFL.com’s Gil Brandt is a wealth of information, especially this time of year. He’s at the University of Missouri on Thursday reporting on Blaine Gabbert‘s workout at the University of Missouri Pro Day, and he’s always quick to report on which coaches, scouts and GMs happen to be on hand at any given prospect’s workout. When it comes to NFL happenings, Brandt leaves no stone unturned.
Or in this case, no Blarney Stone unturned.
Here’s a bit of information that only Brandt can provide: Did you know that Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive line coach Pat Morris is the only coach in the league who has a clause in his contract stating that he has off on St. Patrick’s Day?
We kid you not. While other coaches are busy working on their teams’ draft boards, Morris – a 15-year NFL coaching vet who joined the Bucs this year after a five-year stint in Minnesota — has March 17 off. Which no doubt has those other coaches green with envy.
