The Patriots were on the clock on “Path to the Draft” on Monday. New England is in an enviable position in the 2011 NFL Draft, holding six picks in the first three rounds. But what do the Patriots do with those picks?
Comcast SportsNet New England Patriots beat writer Tom Curran notes that the team has liked to repel up and down the draft board in recent years, and New England could position itself for a top-10 pick. The Patriots are loaded with talent, so a move to package some of those picks to grab a game changer could be in order.
Coach Bill Belichick has said that it has been hard to replace a player like pass-rushing linebacker Willie McGinest, so the Patriots could have their eyes on Cal’s Cameron Jordan or Purdue’s Ryan Kerrigan.
