Time to check back in on the latest in the Tiki Barber news cycle.
A report surfaced earlier this week in the New York Post that Barber would “certainly be interested” in restarting his career with the Steelers. Apparently, though, that interest isn’t mutual.
Steelers beat man Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers have “no interest” in Barber.
While Barber remains property of the Giants, the team said they will release him once a new CBA is reached and teams are permitted to make roster moves. Until then, it’s difficult to gauge what interest Barber will get. But from what we’re hearing — NFL Network information man Jason La Canfora would be “shocked” if Barber made a team, and analyst Brian Baldinger can’t see any team extending an offer — Barber’s return doesn’t seem like it will be easy, even if he’s willing.
