Poor conditions may have affected the overall performances for the seven prospects at Fresno State’s pro day on March 8.
Scouts from 21 teams watched the players work out outdoors on grass, which is not ideal.
DE Chris Carter (6-foot-1 3/8, 250) had a 32-inch vertical leap and stood on the rest of his combine results. He looked very good in linebacker position drills and helped his draft stock.
WR Jamel Hamler (6-0 7/8, 190) was also at the combine but participated in all the drills. He ran 4.68 against 5-10 mph wind and 4.63 with the wind. He had a 35 1/2 vertical leap, 9-8 broad jump, 4.24 short shuttle and 7.16 three-cone drill.
OL Andrew Jackson (6-1 1/8, 300) had a 5.36 and 5.38 40, a 29-inch vertical leap, 8-6 broad jump, 4.84 short shuttle, 7.80 three-cone drill and completed 27 reps in the bench press.
QB Ryan Colburn (6-2 7/8, 220), ran 5.20 and 5.15 in the 40, had a 30 1/2 vertical jump, and participated in position drills.
Three players who were not at the combine also stood out:
DT Cornell Banks (6-2 1/4, 323) ran 4.76 and 4.60 in the 40, had a 26-inch vertical leap, 7-3 broad jump, 4.89 short shuttle, 8.08 three-cone drill and 20 bench press repetitions.
CB Desia Dunn (5-8 1/4, 191) ran a 4.51 and 4.58 in the 40, a 34 1/2-inch vertical leap, 9-5 broad jump,
4.15 short shuttle and 6.89 three-cone drill and 20 reps in the bench press.
ILB Ben Jacobs (6-4 3/8, 243), a four-year starter, ran 4.92 and 4.84 in the 40, had a 34 1/2-inch vertical leap, 9-8 broad jump, 4.45 short shuttle and 7.19 three-cone drill.
