Getting to know … Texas A&M LB Miller

Texas A&M LB Von Miller stopped by the NFL Network studios on Tuesday, and we took some time to get to know him as he prepares for the 2011 NFL Draft.

Adam Rank: Favorite team growing up?
Von Miller: Dallas Cowboys.

AR: Favorite player?
VM: (Hall of Fame RB) Emmitt Smith. I liked the way he hit the holes and how he played the game.

AR: Did you dream about playing for the Cowboys as a kid?
I had dreams like that, for sure, to be playing at Texas Stadium. But right now, I just want to play in the league.

AR: Who are you looking forward to playing against the most?
I am just looking forward to being on the squad with some great guys. Having all of those brutes around you.

AR: Did you play Madden?
Yes, I had all of them.

AR: Of course, you created yourself on the game, right?
I did. I created myself as a RB or WR.

AR: Be honest, when you created yourself, you were a 99 speed.
I tried to keep it truthful. So I gave myself a 90.

AR: C’mon
Well, 90-91.

AR: Really?
Between 95 and 90.

AR: I feel I could just sit here and eventually you will cave and say 99.
Nah, 90-95. That’s it.

AR: And the team you used?

AR: What do you look forward to the most, getting that jersey for the first time or actually being on the Madden game?
The jersey.

AR: If you weren’t playing football, what sport would you choose?
I would try basketball, but you only get five fouls. Maybe track. I would like to run the hurdles, do the long jump.

AR: Speaking of that, what was your favorite event at the combine?
The 40-yard dash. That is what the combine is all about, your 40 time.

AR: Favorite TV show.
I like “SportsCenter” and NFL Network.

AR: Favorite movie.
“Friday Night Lights” (Miller played high school football at DeSoto High in Texas).

AR: Best Texas A&M alum.
(Former Aggies and Cowboys LB) Dat Nguyen. He is the face of Texas A&M, at least when you think of linebackers.

AR: Best Texas A&M player now.
VM: QB Ryan Tannehill. He can run and throw, and he can do anything.

AR: Seems like we should give some love to former Aggie Shane Lechler.
Best punter out there.

AR: Favorite music.
Everything. I have over 32,000 songs.

AR: Do you listen to music on headphones before the game?
No pregame music for me. I love just raw football, and to listen to the buzz of the fans. With headphones, you can’t hear that.

AR: Have any thoughts on Charlie Sheen?
Nah. What’s going on with him?

AR: That was the perfect answer. Thank you, Von.
