A look back at Day 2

INDIANAPOLIS — And now for a few thoughts, observations and highlights as we wrap up Day 2 of the NFL Scouting Combine:

  • Marvin Lewis is moving forward under the guise Carson Palmer won’t be traded, but won’t speculate on the quarterback’s future.
  • Redskins coach Mike Shanahan told reporters the fate of QB Donovan McNabb will be decided after the draft.
  • Former Washington QB Jake Locker knows his passing accuracy is a concern.
  • Mike Pouncey hopes to play center in the NFL and said some scouts believe he’s better than his Pro Bowl twin brother.
  • Rick Smith and Gary Kubiak talked about the Texans’ switch to a 3-4 base defense.
  • Broncos GM Brian Xanders denied a report second-year QB Tim Tebow lacks support within the organization.
  • Lovie Smith got things started by saying QB Jay Cutler is his guy.
