With Shockey gone, Graham’s stock on the rise

The Saints have parted ways with veteran TE Jeremy Shockey, opening a chance for fellow Miami Hurricane product Jimmy Graham to see a more prominent role in the offense. He showed serious flashes of potential at the end of his rookie season, scoring four touchdowns in his last three games.
Compared to Jermichael Finley for his skills and athleticism, Graham has major statistical upside in the aggressive offense of coach Sean Payton. And let’s face it, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that he has a major advantage with a superstar quarterback like Drew Brees under center.
While I won’t rank Graham among the elite players at his position, he certainly has a very strong chance to become a legitimate fantasy starter in 2011.
